I don’t even know where to begin with this one. Bad Times at the El Royale is essentially The Hateful Eight meets No Country for Old Men. It features an all-star cast of great characters and takes place inside a peculiar hotel, which makes for a terrific setting. The tone is intense and leaves you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The film is also very unpredictable, adding to that engrossing intensity. The only problem this movie has is that its pacing is self-indulgent at times and, thus, it overstays its welcome just a tad. But, it’s still an amazing work from Drew Goddard and overall one of the best movies to come out of 2018. I give Bad Times at the El Royale a 9.1/10 rating.
