In a letter sent out on Oct. 11 by Diane DiGiuseppe, Superintendent of the Kinnelon school district, DiGiuseppe confirms that two students have tested positive for COVID-19, the deadly pandemic currently wreaking havoc across the world. The letter states that as of now, KHS does not require a full closure and that they are working closely with public health officials to determine the spread of the virus and any other students or teachers who were in close proximity to those who tested positive. DiGiuseppe also braces the Kinnelon families for potentially moving to all-virtual instruction if the COVID infections continue to spread throughout the cohorts.
This news, coming out just a month after school first started on Sept. 10, calls into question just how long the Kinnelon school district- specifically the Kinnelon High School- will last in the currently-instituted hybrid schedule before requiring a full closure due to a COVID outbreak.
