KINNELON, NJ.- The Kinnelon Colts were led by a three-man attack on Feb. 8 in their 75-73 overtime win over the Hanover Park Hornets. Junior Ryan Geng along with seniors Dylan Charles and Nick Canariato combined for 65 of the 75 Colts points. Canariato also notched a double-double with his 10 rebounds.
The Colts (7-13) were in a close one all game as the largest lead for either side was less than 10 points. Tied 34-34 at the half, the next two quarters would produce similar results. It was Charles of Kinnelon who hit a clutch free throw with 3.1 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. With 9.1 seconds left in overtime, it was also Kinnelon’s Geng who hit the go-ahead bucket, and Hanover Park was unable to answer, leaving the Colts victors.
Despite the loss, the Hornets (13-9) had impressive performances from Alex Reyes (25 points), Anthony Reyes (15 points) and Odera Orjiekwe (12 points). They look to bounce back from the loss on Feb. 10 against Lenape Valley.
