With prom coming up in June, promposals are right around the corner. At KHS, a lot of juniors and seniors prompose to their dates. It is a fun way to spice up prom season and make dates excited to attend prom together.
This year’s prom is on June 5. from 6 to 10:30 p.m. It is located at “The Legacy Castle” in Pompton Plains N.J. It has taken place at the Legacy Castle for a couple of years now, and students continue to love it and have a blast. Juniors and seniors are also given the option to bring a date, even if they are from a different town, which makes promposals and prom even more thrilling.
Last year, a lot of girls got promposed to leading up to prom. Whether that be a couple going together and doing a promposal to make it a little more special, or even a date just going as friends, it brings a lot of excitement to the girls.
Graduated senior Marco Lucci promposed to current senior Riley Macmanus last year at her work, Amettis Pizza, in Pequannock N.J. Macmanus was so shocked and excited. Even though they were already dating and planning to go to prom together, it made prom even more special for the two of them.
Macmanus says, “I was so shocked when I walked out of work after my shift and saw Marco with a big poster board and teddy bear. I was so happy and even more excited for prom!”
This year, senior Jake Piccola plans to prompose to one of his close friends Samantha Mortimer.
Piccola says, “Even though we are just friends, I am super excited to go to prom with Sam. It will be a lot of fun and no pressure. I plan to prompose to her in a funny way, especially because we both get each other’s sense of humor.”
Students have even been promposed to for other towns’ proms. Junior Melina Lucci got promposed to last year to go to the Jefferson High School prom.
“Last year I got promposed to for the Jefferson High School prom. When I got promposed to, I instantly was super excited to go to prom as a Sophomore. Now, I feel a lot more prepared for my first real prom this year.”
Overall, promposals are a super fun way to spice up prom. It allows students to get each other excited, or even take the next step!
