There are plenty of students from Kinnelon High School who ski and snowboard. Sophomore Frankie Cignini shares, “I’ve been skiing ever since I can remember, and it’s something I look forward to every winter. I am more of a summer person, but snowboarding gives me something to be excited about as the snow starts to fall,”. In addition to this, snowboarding and skiing aren’t just a fun activity; they are also a great way to stay in shape. Next up to stay entertained all winter long is snow tubing. It is an exciting, kid-friendly way to hit the slopes! Tubbing is very similar, aside from the fact that instead of a sled, riders would use a donut, pool floaties, or a type of shape instead of a traditional sled. Senior Grace Durkin adds, “I have been sledding multiple times with my younger cousins, and it is so much fun. I think it is better than sledding because you don’t have to hike up and down a hill since a conveyor belt can bring you up the slope. This is my favorite part when I go with younger cousins since it keeps them more entertained since they can go down so many more times,”.
Lastly, ice skating is enjoyable with friends, a significant other, or even family. Although it might be challenging to get the hang of, it is one of the top ten most popular winter activities. Junior Olivia Torsiello says, “ I have been ice skating a few times with my friends, and it has become one of our go-to activities. We fall a lot, but it is so fun to just be with all my friends and laugh,”.
