Since the 14th century, February 14th has been named Valentine’s Day and is the day of honoring significant others. This tradition is still celebrated, but since 2010, the day before Valentine’s Day has been named Galentine’s Day, dedicated to appreciating platonic relationships. Galentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to celebrate friendship and memories. This is the ultimate list of five activities that will make a Galentine’s Day celebration memorable.
From fun and festive recipes to motivating crafts, this list will ensure every gal at the party is fed and entertained. Remembering that the most essential part of every Galentine’s activity is enjoying the moment and appreciating the friends attending the celebration is important.
Brunch Party
The first mention of Galentine’s Day was in the movie “Parks and Recreation” when the protagonist had her friends over the day before Valentine’s to have a brunch together. This Galentine’s Day, why not carry out this original tradition and host a brunch party? This brunch party could be somewhere easy, like a restaurant or cafe, or a trendier alternative would be a “bring your charcuterie board” at home. Each guest could make a board with items like waffles, pancakes, sausage, etc. Every food item could follow a typical Valentine’s Day color scheme, such as pink, purple, and red. Junior Sophia Covello states, “Last year, I hosted a Galentine’s brunch with my friends, and everyone picked out of a hat what themed charcuterie board they’d have to bring. It was super fun and festive.” This is not only delicious but also creative fun.
Painting Candles
One gift that nearly everyone appreciates is a candle. Painting candles would be an easy party favor and an enjoyable activity. It only takes four simple supplies to make a stunning candle. For the base, tall wax candles of any color are needed. Once the candles are laid out in everyone’s workspace, they must be cleaned with rubbing alcohol to prepare them for the paint. After the candles are all prepared, every guest
can have a palette of acrylic paint with Valentine’s colors. Using non-toxic and water-based acrylic paint is extremely important to prevent fire hazards. Finally, all the guests can design their adorable candles with hearts, xoxo, or anything they come up with. This is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and pretty decoration.

Pasta Making Party
A pasta-making party is an excellent way to make fun shapes and explore new recipes. A pasta-making party can be held at home, or everyone could join a class. A class that’ll be yummy and close to home is Comfort Cafe. Comfort Cafe is hosting a Galentine’s pasta-making party on February 12th, 2025. This party will include appetizers, a fresh pasta entree, and a homemade dessert. This event is $55 per person to attend and will purchase food, recipes, and memories. Make sure to RSVP online to participate in this fun event. Junior Aiyana Bula, an employee for Comfort Cafe, says, “Comfort Cafe hosts a lot of different kinds of parties and activities, but the upcoming pasta night is a ‘must-go.’”
Vision Board
Although vision boards are commonly associated with New Year’s, it’s never too late to set goals. Every guest can have their poster board that’s any color they want. Next, the group can select photos representing goals they hope to achieve in 2025. A platform with the most aesthetically pleasing images would be Pinterest. These photos can be printed at home, in the library, at Walgreens, etc. Once printed, all the guests can discuss their goals with one another while gluing the pictures to the board. If the group is looking for extra glam on their posters, a stop at a craft store to get beads, feathers, rhinestones, and more would suffice. Sophomore Jules Borovcanin adds, “During New Year, I didn’t have time to make a vision board, so I’m planning on making some with my friends for Galentine’s instead.” Vision board parties are perfect for bonding and motivation.
Fondue Night
Dipping into the last activity is a fondue night. The fun thing about fondue is that the possibilities are endless. For a savory twist, there’s cheese, oil (meat fondue), and broth fondue. Pairing ideas for savory fondues are potatoes, crackers, broccoli, bell peppers, chicken, bread, sausage, and any more that the guests desire. If sweet fondue is irresistible, the fondue night could include chocolate, strawberry, and peanut butter fondue. There are hundreds of delicious pairings for sweet fondue, but some of the most common include biscuits, cookies, fruit, marshmallows, pretzels, salty chips, etc. A fondue Galentine’s is a great way to experiment with fun recipes and have an unforgettable night.
Galentine’s Day is a great way to celebrate friendships enriching daily lives. From crafts to food to setting goals, this list ensures that every gal feels special. The key to Galentine’s Day is to have fun and appreciate the friendships that make every experience worth remembering.
