KHS is undergoing significant changes as it welcomes a new principal in the upcoming school year. After a decade of service, current principal Gary Suda is transferring to Pearl R. Miller Middle School, and Kiel School principal Jennifer Oluwole will move to KHS.
Incoming principal Oluwole has been a part of the Kinnelon school district for five years. Since 2018, she has served as a principal, vice principal, and curriculum coordinator in Frankfort Township, Green Township, and the New York Public School district. Oluwole is eager to bring a new approach to KHS, focusing on fostering healthy relationships between students and faculty.
“I am all about approaching my position as principal from a relationship standpoint. I look forward to establishing close relationships with students, staff members, and families. This is an additional opportunity for me to forge deeper connections within our community,” Oluwole said.
The transition is expected to bring growth to KHS. Through the emphasis on a sense of community, school spirit, and engagement, Oluwole aims to create a positive student experience by expanding traditions like Spirit Week and creating a renewed sense of pride for the Kinnelon Colts.
Meanwhile, outgoing principal Suda is preparing to move to the middle school, where he will continue to advocate for the diverse needs of students. reflecting on the transition, Suda hopes to shift seamlessly. “I will be working closely with [current principal] Mongon and [vice principal] Yosifides over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition. we believe these changes will have a positive impact across the district,” he said.

Sophomore Alice Levi comments on the change. “While I am sad to see Mr. Suda leave, I am optimistic that our new principal will transfer with motivation to better the school and advocate for students and staff,” she said.
Other students share similar attitudes, expressing gratitude for Suda’s service and confidence in Oluwole. “Mr. Suda has been here since I started at KHS, so it will be a little weird having him gone. But I’ve heard good things about our new administration,” said sophomore Manali Patel.
Additionally, many students look forward to changes in school culture. Sophomore Anthony Manna said, “I hope we get a bigger and more inclusive spirit week. I want there to be more inclusivity and pride.
As KHS moves forward under new leadership, students and staff should expect a continuation of focus on academics, school spirit, and a supportive space for learning. Incoming principal Oluwole is eager to start, “I just can’t wait, I’m very excited about this opportunity to continue building on Kinnelon High School’s strong foundation.”
