Review of Masker Orchard in Warwick, New Jersey

The air is getting cooler, and the trees are crisper, which means its apple picking season! And what better way to start the fall season than going apple picking?

Easy access links to learn further information about Maskers Orchard.

One of the best things about Masker Orchard is that it’s located so close to New Jersey; its address is 45 Ball Rd, Warwick, New York. The ride from Kinnelon is only 35 minutes away without traffic, and the ride is also so beautiful! I always enjoy passing by the beautiful views, like colorful forests and mountains with rivers. It’s quite eye-capturing, and the perfect start to your apple-picking experience. The season starts in August and runs to November, so there’s plenty of time to pick.

Upon your arrival, you are allowed to drive right into the orchard, parking wherever you like and under whichever tree you desire! I find this extremely pleasing every year because it is less of a tactic than having to find a parking spot when instead you can drive up to whichever area you may desire and picnic there! The Orchard stretches over 200 acres with 14 different apples ripening through the season; my favorite is the “empire” apples. They’re very sweet and juicy, but also hard and full of flavor, and worth trying when visiting. Maskers have also put together a ripening schedule that is so helpful every time I visit, that allows me to see every apple’s “peak” time, when they will taste the best!

While you are visiting, you are also allowed to eat as many apples as you please, at no charge. I never leave Maskers without my stomach full from eating their delicious empire apples. Did I mention parking is free, admission is free, and bags are provided for free? That’s always a sweet deal to me, that keeps me and my family coming back every year. Once you collect your apples, you pay right as you leave in your car (super convenient) $33.95 for each bag you collect.

After picking our apples, my family and I always make our way down the orchard and to the country store, “Grandma’s Apple Pie and Donut Shop”. There are so many homemade baked goods that Maskers offers: apple butter, apple pie, fresh jams, donuts, etc. My family always buys apple pie; it always has the perfect balance between the apples, sweetness, and cinnamon. We also usually get the Apple Cider Donuts that aren’t too sweet, and taste exactly like apple cider! On weekdays only, you can purchase half or a dozen pies and donuts at their online store (linked below). Once ordered, you will receive a call/text when your order is ready for pick up. Unfortunately, Maskers doesn’t offer delivery/shipping services.

Another great thing about Masker’s is that there are annual deals and discounts. One of the discounts offered this year is the “2023 Midweek Pickin’ Special”. This discount gives you a $2 discount off each picked bag plus one free jug of their Masker apple cider with a purchase of two or more full bags of apples. The second discount offered this year is the “2023 Cider Special”. With this discount, you can get one free jug of cider with two or more full bags of apples! I recommend taking upon this discount since it is very easy to apply to it. These coupons can be printed and shown while exiting. See the infographic below to print the coupons!
