On Sept. 20, 10 days after the first day of school, Kinnelon High School confirms its first COVID-19 case. In a letter sent out to the families of Kinnelon, Superintendent Diane DiGiuseppe verified that “an individual at Kinnelon High School has tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).”
With this current information– and the fact that nearby school district, Pompton Lakes, recently went fully virtual due to four positive COVID cases (three students, one staff member)–a sudden wave of students across the Kinnelon Public Schools System opting to attend class virtually, rather than the currently-instituted hybrid plan, may be in the near future.
