Spring break is the perfect time for everyone to pause in their busy day-to-day lives and go somewhere they can escape and have fun with the people they love. Some of the most ideal and fun destinations are Aruba and Myrtle Beach.
Whether you are looking to spend your days bathing in the sun on the beach or participating in family-friendly activities, these two destinations have a variety of things for everyone to enjoy.
Aruba is often referred to as “One Happy Island.”Even though this island is quite small, it is filled with beautiful, clear beaches with soft white sand, gorgeous weather, and endless activities. Some great beaches to visit are Palm Beach and Eagle Beach, where you can snorkel, swim, and tan. Some of the most popular Hotels to stay at are the Marriott Ocean Club and Surf Club. They are neighboring hotels that are very similar to one another. The ocean club is more low-key and less busy, perfect for adults and older kids, and the Surf Club is busier, with a lazy river, slides, and fun activities, perfect for families with younger kids.
There are endless restaurants and activities that you don’t want to miss when visiting Aruba. You can go on a boat for the day called the Jolly Pirate, where food is included in an experience of snorkeling and rope jumping, either during the day or during sunset. Quading and visiting the Palm Island and the lighthouse are also great things to do.
DePalm Island is a small island in Aruba where you can spend the day snorkeling, going to water parks, or sunbathing and eating. The day pass is $155-$139 for the whole experience, including as many drinks and as much food as your heart desires.
Sophomores Sofia Solensky and Alex DeAngelo both have been to Aruba before and had a great time there. Solensky said, “I had such a great time there spending time with friends and family.” Some great restaurants in Aruba are Barefoot, Zeerover, Flying Fishbone, Giannis, which anyone will love. These restaurants are very popular and are almost guaranteed to have something for everyone.
Myrtle Beach is also a very fun and exciting place to go to that is filled with beaches and restaurants. The Hilton Grand Vacation Club is a great place to stay when visiting here. It is close to the beach and other fun activities. There are indoor and outdoor pools, as well as electric chargers for your electric car. Some places you must go to are the boardwalk at the beach, Ripley’s Aquarium, and Family Kingdom amusement park. These things will give everyone something to do that they will love and enjoy.
Sophomore Lea Albik says, “I have heard great things about Myrtle Beach and hope to go someday with my family and check out a bunch of cool and fun areas.”
Some amazing places that you should eat at are Sea Captain’s House, Drift, and The Hangout. These restaurants are very casual but are in great areas and have the best food.
Both of these places have several beaches and similar activities to one another, but they both have very different feelings to them. It just depends on if you prefer a more relaxed Caribbean vacation in Aruba, or a more activity-filled touristy area in Myrtle Beach.
No matter where you choose to go, Aruba and Myrtle Beach will both promise you a spring break that you will never forget. Filled with so many adventures and memories, it is ensured that you will have an amazing time spent at these locations.
